Free web building
Need a simple website for your business? I’ll build it for free, and host it for you too if you want. You get a clean, fast, mobile-friendly site that tells people who you are, what you do, and how to reach you.
Why is it free?
I’m building out my portfolio, and I like helping small businesses get online. That’s the whole catch. I will never put ads on your website.
Start from a template
Each one is a starting point. Your site gets your name, photos, services, colors and wording.
Don’t see your kind of business? Ask anyway. Most small service businesses fit one of these layouts.
What’s included
- A marketing website of up to about five pages: home, services, about, contact, and one more if you need it.
- Works on phones, tablets and computers, loads fast, with basic search engine setup (titles, descriptions, sitemap).
- A contact form, so customers can reach you without calling or texting. I set it up to send messages straight to your email.
- Your phone number, email, address, hours and a map link, plus click-to-call and click-to-email.
- Optional hosting by me for normal small-business traffic, with HTTPS. The site is served from a worldwide cache, so it loads fast everywhere and keeps working offline once a visitor has opened it.
- Small text and photo updates when you need them, within reason.
What’s not included
These sites are deliberately simple. They show information; they don’t run your business. That means no:
- online stores, payments, bookings or customer accounts / logins;
- databases, quote calculators or custom apps (the contact form just emails you);
- blogs with frequent posting, or integrations with other software;
- logo design, copywriting from scratch, or professional photography (I’ll work with what you have, or try to find something that works).
You can link out to a booking, ordering or payment service you already use.
What you pay for
- Your domain name. You buy it, own it, and pay the yearly renewal (usually $10–$20/year). It’s registered in your name, so the site is always yours.
- Costs beyond basic hosting. Normal traffic is covered. If your site draws enough traffic, or needs a paid service, to cost real money to run (for example $20/month in traffic costs), you pay that cost. I’ll tell you as soon as it shows up on my bill.
- Anything you add later outside the scope above, such as paid email inboxes or third-party services.
Prefer to host it yourself? I’ll hand over the finished files. No domain required.
Staying in touch
Hosting depends on being able to reach you. Your site may be taken down if:
- you don’t reply to my emails for a month;
- your domain isn’t renewed and lapses; or
- costs beyond basic hosting go unpaid.
I’ll email you before taking anything down, and you can always ask for your site’s files.
Who can apply
- US-based businesses with a physical address in the United States.
- Legal businesses and services only. I may decline any project.
How it works
- Email [email protected] with your business name, city and state, what you do, and a template you like.
- After we agree on the project, buy your domain (I’ll tell you how) and send your logo, photos and details.
- I build the site and send you a preview. We make changes until you’re happy.
- I point your domain at it and it goes live.
