Frequently asked questions

Why does the ingredient matter?
Cups measure volume and grams measure weight. A cup of flour weighs about 125 g but a cup of sugar about 200 g.
Which cup is used?
The US cup (about 237 ml). A metric cup is 250 ml, so results differ by about 5%.
